Only In Brazil

Few other countries capture the world’s imagination like Brazil, and with the 2016 Summer Olympic Games coming to Rio de Janeiro, it is unlikely that focus will shift. Of course, Brazilians are perfectly comfortable with that kind of attention. They have, after all, been receiving it for centuries. With legendary beaches from Copacabana to Natal, and the equally legendary biodiversity of the Amazon River and rainforest, Brazil offers a massive experience that is as lush, fluid and seductive as the samba itself.

    Santa In South America

    Every country in South America has its own holiday traditions, but some aspects of seasonal celebrations are universal: being surrounded by family and friends, plenty of food and drink and Santa Claus...or at least a variation on the Santa Claus theme. In Chile, for example, children write their letters to the Viejito Pascuero, who comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve. As in many countries, Chileans take the tree down after January 6th, the popular Día de Reyes (Three Kings Day), which in Chile is known as, Pascua de los Negros. (more…)
