LAN offers its passengers Special Services to make flying with us as comfortable as possible. Following please find the list of Special Services LAN has to offer.
Passengers who due to their physical condition require the use of a wheelchair.
As a general rule, these passengers do not require MEDIF. However, this depends on the diagnosis of the passenger in question.
Passengers traveling with a wheelchairs with “add water” batteries are required to request accommodation at least 48 hours in advance.
If the passenger is traveling with his or her own wheelchair (be it “add water” or otherwise) this can be stored in the holding area without charge or being counted against the passenger’s luggage exemption, as can other needed items (e.g. crutches). Wheelchair may be boarded with their wheels at their normal working air pressure – there is no need to deflate them.
If the wheelchair is needed by the passenger for the entire duration of the flight, it should be labeled at the boarding entrance and retained at the aircraft door.
