Blind and Deaf Passengers

Passengers with permanent visual or auditory impairments are allowed to travel with a helper animal at no additional cost and without the animal counting towards the passenger's baggage exemption.

The helper animal must have an official emblem identifying it as such, as well as the relevant documentation for the destinations and any transit countries. Only dogs will be accepted. They may travel in the cabin with the passenger, wearing a muzzle.

If the passenger is traveling with another person, he or she may opt to store the animal in the cabin or in the hold. For more information, see Transportation of Pets and Animals.

To arrange for the animal's boarding or if you have any questions, please confirm the service via our Call Center or at any LAN sales office.

Passengers who are both deaf and blind must travel with a companion.
