Transportation of Passengers with Disabilities: Mental and Psychiatric

It is required for all passengers who, due to their condition are not capable of following instructions or display personality or behavioral disorders, to present valid Medical Certification issued no more than seven days before the flight. Depending on the diagnosis and the airline doctor's decision, it may be required that the passenger travel with a companion or with the assistance of a specialized health professional.

The companion must meet the following requirements:

• Be a legally responsible adult (18 years or older).
• Be capable of communicating with the Crew and with the passenger.
• Be able to assist the passenger with his or her specific needs.
