Excess Baggage Fees

Excess baggage fees, beginning April 1, 2009


Fees for classes and routes with an exemption of two pieces of baggage of 23 kilograms each.

*When the weight limit is exceeded (but the piece limit is respected), the fee regulation applies as follows:

  • From 23 kg to a maximum of 32 kg, you will be charged once.
  • From 32 kg to a maximum of 45 kg (if the route allows for this weight limit), you will be charged twice.

*When the maximum number of pieces of baggage is exceeded:

  • For each piece of baggage in excess of the number allowed in the exemption, you will be charged twice.

When the piece limit AND the weight limit is exceeded:

  • You will be charged twice for each additional piece, in addition to the excess weight charges in accordance with the applicable regulation.

Fees for routes with an exemption of two pieces of baggage with a combined weight of 23 kilograms

*When the weight limit is exceeded (but the piece limit is respected), the fee regulation applies as follows:
  • From 23 kg to a maximum of 32 kg, you will be charged once.
  • From 32 kg to a maximum of 45 kg (if the route allows for this weight limit), you will be charged twice.
  • From 45 kg to a maximum of 65 kg (if the route allows for this weight limit), you will be charged three times.
  • From 65 kg to a maximum of 90 kg (if the route allows for this weight limit), you will be charged four times.

*When the maximum number of pieces of baggage is exceeded:

  • For each piece of baggage in excess of the number allowed in the exemption, you will be charged twice.

When the piece limit AND the weight limit is exceeded:

  • You will be charged twice for each additional piece, in addition to the excess weight charges in accordance with the applicable regulation.
