Charges for Excess Baggage

If you are taking overweight baggage or traveling with a pet, consult the regulations before you travel. Pets are always counted as additional baggage, even if you are not taking any other baggage. To find out the final cost, check the table of fees and prices in this section.

 

* Only if excess weight is allowed on this route. Routes to and from Argentina, Europe or Australia have a maximum weight allowance of 32 kg (70 pounds) for each additional piece and/or pet.

** Pieces of luggage over 45 kg must be sent by freight.

IMPORTANT:

Carriage of additional baggage will be subject to assessment at the airport and will apply only to flights operated by LAN.

Charges for Excess Baggage

Charges are subject to change without prior warning.
The amounts shown do not include the applicable tax that depends on the country. In Colombia, a 16% VAT charge applies (except on routes to/from San Andres Island and Leticia) and in Peru, 18% GST is always charged.

Important excess baggage information for the Madrid - Quito (via Guayaquil) route

For flights as of November 1, 2015 you will be charged USD 195 (EUR 150) from the fifth piece of luggage onwards. This regulation applies to tickets purchased after August 7, 2015.
