Problems with your baggage

We hope that you will never have to read this page, however, if you come to have problems with your baggage here we are providing you with all the information so that you to know what to do.

If you do not find our baggage

  • If you have forgotten an item on board in the cabin, contact the nearest Baggage Service office.
  • If it does not appear at the baggage claim area of the airport, notify LAN personnel at the destination airport with your passport, ticket and baggage voucher.
  • If it is still missing and you have already made a claim at the airport, you may track your baggage online by entering the claim file reference number and your name.
  • If the information is not available please check back later or contact the airport closest to you.
  • In addition you can complete our online query form

If the baggage has not been located within the first seven days, your report will be transferred to LAN’s Baggage Central, where our specialized personnel will contact you. This process will require an additional period of eight days; however, everything possible is done so that you can have your baggage returned.

If your baggage is damaged

If your baggage arrives at the airport with significant damages caused by everyday use you must do the following:

• Notify LAN personnel before leaving the airport's baggage claim area.

• If you have already left, contact the nearest Baggage Service office.

Important:

  • We recommend taking anything of value, such as documents, money or jewelry, as well as fragile and electronic items, as hand luggage.
  • When transporting luggage, LAN cannot be held responsible beyond the limits established by law for the loss, damage to or delay in receiving fragile or valuable items, whether for commercial or personal use.
