LAN's update on Hurricane Sandy affecting the Northeastern USA
Thursday, November 1, 2012. - LAN would like to remind its passengers to check their flight status.
Passengers traveling to/from New York with tickets issued up to October 28 for cancelled flights up to October 31 can choose from one of the following options:
DATE CHANGES Date/flight changes are allowed, without paying a fine (and for both outbound and return flights simultaneously), respecting the ticket’s other regulations (maximum stay, seasonality, etc.) and subject to availability in the original cabin, as long as the whole flight is rescheduled for no more than 30 days after the date change is requested and processed. Requests to reschedule flights for more than 30 days after (whether outbound and/or return) are subject to cabin availability and ticket validity. To make date changes, please call the Contact Center or contact sales offices.
ROUTE CHANGES Route changes are allowed according to current procedures without paying a fine, paying the corresponding fare differences as applicable and irrespective of whether the fare’s regulations allow changes or not. Rewards and compensation should be adjusted according to the restrictions of the corresponding operator.
REFUNDS In this case, the passenger has the right to a refund of what they paid for their ticket and of the taxes that would have been charged. This applies to tickets issued in Europe, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.A. For tickets issued in other countries, passengers can choose between the previously indicated DATE CHANGES or ROUTE CHANGES and refunds are subject to the conditions of the purchased fare.
GROUND SERVICES For ground services arranged through LAN, the passenger should contact their LAN sales executive. For ground services arranged through non-LAN third parties, the passenger should contact the sales executive who arranged the service.
