How to get around the Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands can be reached by flights from Guayaquil or Quito, or by boat if visitors choose to hire one of the authorized cruises that cross over from the mainland.

Having reached the islands, guests will find a variety of options including bicycles, light aircraft, buses or taxis depending on the geography of the particular island. Keep in mind that because the area is protected, access to most places is prohibited unless visitors are accompanied by a certified nature guide.
