The Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport is the country's principal air terminal. It is located in Pudahuel district, 21 kilometers (13 miles) west of the city and just minutes off the metropolitan freeway called Costanera Norte.

This airport is considered one of the most modern and efficient in all of Latin America. It offers connecting flights to points across all of South America, North America, Europe and the Pacific and works with the most important airlines in the world, including 22 passenger airlines and 14 cargo lines.

Airport facilities offer a variety of passenger comforts: restaurants, bars and cafes, ATM machines, a Wi-Fi internet connection, souvenir and duty free shops including newspapers and tobacco, a nearby hotel with shuttle service, tourism offices, a money exchange and five VIP salons, among other courtesies.
