The Gobernador Francisco Gabrielli International Airport, also known as "El Plumerillo", is located 11 kilometers (7 miles) north of downtown. It serves as a travel hub for the city of Mendoza and is one of the most important airports in the country. More than 650,000 travelers pass through it each year and capacity will be expanded to 1 million in the near future.
