Destination guide: Iguazu
About Iguazu
Iguazu is located in the north eastern Argentinean province of Misiones, right on the border with Brazil and Paraguay and lies only 23 kilometers away from the famous Iguazu Falls (“Big Water” in Guarani dialect). These spectacular waterfalls are surrounded by extensive and majestic jungle-green landscapes, giving the visitor the impression of being in true paradise.
A tourist destination par excellence, Iguazu offers a large choice of hotels, cottages and youth hostels that provide a pleasant stay for visitors, as well as restaurants, shops, bars and pubs, discotheques, banks, money exchange agencies and a duty free area, located near the International Bridge. Beautiful local handicrafts also abound, sold mainly in the “Three Borders Landmark” market where the Parana and Iguazu rivers meet.
