According to a SkyTrax survey of passengers from all over the world:
LAN NAMED BEST SOUTH AMERICAN AIRLINE

LAN Airlines was again voted the best airline in South America according to a survey conducted by the prestigious British market research company SkyTrax. The company was also honored with the award for excellence in the service provided by its personnel throughout the region.
The 2010 results were presented recently at the World Airline Awards ceremony held in Hamburg, Germany where airlines were recognized as having been voted among the best in the industry by passengers from around the world.
The analysis is the largest global survey of its kind among airline customers. Interviews were held with nearly 18 million people from 100 different nationalities. Included in the 38 aspects evaluated were product quality and service levels offered by each company. The customer experience, both on the ground and in the air, were assessed from the moment a passenger checks-in to the boarding process, the comfort of the seating, the state of the cabin, the catering menu, on board entertainment and various other items related to service. Over 200 international airlines were included in the survey.
The study, entitled the “World Airline Survey” was conducted between July 2009 and April 2010 and is considered the principal reference tool on levels of satisfaction with airlines from all over the world. It is a unique analysis of the airlines since it represents the passenger’s experience and point of view.
During the same awards ceremony, the oneworld alliance, of which LAN is a member along with other distinguished international airlines, was chosen as the best in the world.

The awards ceremony was held at the Aircraft Interiors Fair in Hamburg, which is world renowned in the airline industry. During this fair, new products are exhibited and the information on these and other new trends for the aircraft cabins are also discussed
