Baggage Problems - Damage

If your baggage arrives significantly damaged,- the damage caused by everyday use notwithstanding - notify our airline personnel before leaving the airport's baggage claim area, or notify Baggage Service within the next day of your arrival date.

Like most airlines, LAN does not accept responsibility for fragile and perishable items or for minor damage caused by the standard transport of your baggage, including scratches, dents, cuts, stains or loss of external elements such as handles, straps, pockets, hooks or elements affixed to the baggage, normal wear and tear, or damage incurred due to excess weight or contents.

Note: LAN Airlines does not accept responsibility for any damage resulting from the inspections performed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If the TSA has inspected your baggage, you will find a written notification inside. If you detect any abnormality as a result of the revision, please call 1-866-289-9673.
