Santiago, September 2, 2011. LAN Airlines S.A. (“LAN” or “the Company”) announces that the BrazilianCommissao de Valores Mobiliários(CVM) today registered the Company as a foreign issuer.
This represents a necessary step in the business combination process between LAN and Brazilian airline TAM S.A. The transaction remains subject to the necessary regulatory, shareholder and other applicable authorizations, including the approval of the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia, the Chilean antitrust court.
LAN Airlines is one of the leading passenger and cargo airlines in Latin America.
