F.A.Q. about the association
We are very pleased to announce that the association between LAN Airlines and TAM airlines, creating the LATAM Airlines Group, became effective today. Together, we hope to make air travel simpler and more accessible, making it easier for people in South America and the rest of the world to connect.
LAN Airlines S.A. and TAM S.A. have joined forces to create LATAM Airlines Group S.A. Both airlines are leaders in the region and offer world class service. Together, we hope to make flying an ever more simple and comfortable experience, enabling connections between people both in South America and across the world, encouraging more people to travel. The name of the new Holding will be "LATAM Airlines Group S.A."(Grupo LATAM Airlines). LAN, TAM and their respective branches will to operate as they have been, in parallel, offering as they have been doing, their usual services and quality and each keeping its own headquarters (in Santiago and Sao Paulo, respectively.) Any travel-related changes resulting from the merger, will be announced to both companies passengers and cargo clients. Both companies share a vision for the industry, values, and service culture and have similar types of fleet, which is very relevant. However, one of the greatest benefits of this merger is that LAN and TAM compliment each other across nearly their whole network. This means that passengers and cargo clients will have a vast network of destinations available across the entire world.
