1. Affiliate airlines

LANPASS is member program of the oneworld Alliance: What does this mean for you?

As a member of our Frequent Flyer Program, you can earn LANPASS kilometers by flying with any oneworld alliance airline. You can also exchange these kilometers for reward tickets to any of LANPASS/oneworld's nearly 900 destinations worldwide. Review oneworld Alliance airlines and other airlines affiliated with LANPASS.

2. Signing up for LANPASS membership

How do I sign up?

To sign up for a LANPASS membership, simply fill out the form.

Are there any charges or fees involved in the signup process?

Signing up for LANPASS is completely free of charge.

How do I manage my LANPASS Account?

The easiest and most effective way to manage your LANPASS Account is through LAN.com

What is the minimum age requirement for signing up for LANPASS?

Children aged two and up can become LANPASS Members and begin earning kilometers.

What requirements do I need to meet in order to sign up?

All people over the age of two can are eligible, regardless of their nationality or place of residence.

3. Earning kilometers

How many kilometers will I earn with each LAN flight?

The kilometers you earn depend on your destination, cabin class and member category.

Is there a minimum standard for kilometers earned?

LANPASS considers a minimum distance of 800 kms. flown in LAN flights and associated airlines for the purpose of earning km, even though the distance flown may be less(1). The percentages for earning kms. are based on this amount, according to the corresponding fare paid (Basic Rate, Basic Plus, Flexible, Full Flexible or Premium Business).

(1) This accumulation minimum is not valid for LAN flights within Ecuador, where the minimum distance flown for accumulation purposes is 600 km.

Will all LAN flights allow me to earn kilometers?

Yes, all flights allow you to earn LANPASS kilometers (to varying degrees).

How do I register kilometers on my LANPASS Account?

1. When making reservations/purchasing your ticket:

When making reservations or purchasing your ticket, you can provide your member number and request that your kilometers be counted. At www.lan.com, you can enter your member number during the step where you are asked to enter your passenger information.

2. At the counter:

The easiest way to ensure that your kilometers are accredited is to provide your member number at the check-in counter before each flight, requesting that your kilometers be counted. Provide your member number at the check-in counter when flying with LAN or any LANPASS-affiliated airline. Your member number will be printed on the bottom of your barding pass with the code LA, which means that your kilometers with by registered on your LANPASS Account.

3. After flying:

If you forgot to provide your LANPASS member number at the counter or when you purchased your ticket, you can request the accreditation of your kilometers via the LANPASS Contact Center.

How do I register kilometers when flying with affiliate airlines?

You may earn kilometers by flying with our affiliate airlines under the same conditions as with LAN, save for certain exceptions.

Can I earn kilometers through every flight offered by the affiliate airlines?

See the eaning restrictions imposed by LANPASS-affiliated airlines.

How long does it take for my kilometers to appear on my LANPASS Account Statement?

Generally, LANPASS kilometers earned on LAN flights will appear on your Account Statement within the 48 hours following the flight. Kilometers earned on flights with our affiliate airlines can take up to 30 days.

Are there any ways to earn kilometers besides flying?

LANPASS Members can also earn kilometers by using the services of our 20,000+ associate businesses around the world. LANPASS Members earn kilometers by:
  • Making your first ticket purchases through LAN.com.
  • Staying at LANPASS-associated hotels and resorts, and by traveling with LANPASS-associated cruise lines.
  • Renting cars in Chile and abroad from LANPASS-associated agencies.

What happens if I forget to have the kilometers for a flight I've already taken accredited to my account?ué pasa si olvido acumular en mi cuenta los kilómetros de un vuelo que ya hice?

The quickest and easiest way to credit kms. that don’t appear in your statement is through the "Earn your outstanding km”, option on the LANPASS page at LAN.com or by calling the LAN Contact Center.

4. Kilometer expiration

At what point do kilometers expire?

Kilometers earned by flying are valid for a period of 36 months after they are earned. Kilometers earned by using the services of LANPASS-associated businesses are valid for three calendar years. Independent of the limitations stated above, If you fly with LAN and earn one or more kilometers for the flight, ALL your kilometers will be revalidated for another 36 months.

5. Flexible reward redemption

How can I use my LANPASS kilometers?

There are various ways to redeem your LANPASS kilometers:

  • Redeem rewards to the more than 700 destinations available for you, either flying with LAN or with a oneworld or affiliated airline.
  • Redeem flights combining LANPASS kilometers and payment.
  • Redeem non-airline rewards through promotions that we are constantly creating for you so that you can use your kilometers for other products and services.
  • Upgrade to Premium Economy class.

How do I redeem a reward for a flight with LAN?

The quickest and easiest way to redeem a reward for a flight with LAN is through LAN.com, using the Flexible Redemption service
You can also redeem a reward through the LAN Call Center or offices, paying the corresponding service charge. If you redeem your reward through a travel agency, you must pay their service charge.

How do I redeem a reward for a flight with one of the affiliated airlines?

If your destination is not available through the online Flexible Redemption service, please contact our Contact Center.

How many kilometers do I need to redeem a reward with a leg flown with an airline than is not LAN?

The LAN leg of the flight is calculated according to the flexible reward tableand the affiliated airline leg is calculated according to the oneworld reward table. The number of kilometers needed to redeem a reward with a leg involving another airline is the total of the two previously mentioned calculations.

If the award does not have LAN flights, the amount of kilometers is calculated adding the segments on the oneworld awards table.

Can a reward be reserved?

No, rewards are issued immediately.

Can I redeem a reward for another person?

Yes.

Can I transfer a reward to another person?

No, once issued the reward is personal and nontransferable. However, it is possible to return the reward, pay the respective fine and redeem a new one.

Can I use kilometers from more than one account to redeem flights?

No.

How do I change a reward?

Changes can be made through the LAN Call Center or at any LAN office. Date changes for rewards issued through Lan.com can be made with no charge through our website.

Can I change a reward for another?

A reward can be changed for another worth the same amount of kilometers as originally paid. For example, a redeemed Santiago - Buenos Aires Plus reward can be changed for an equivalent or Classic reward, but not for a Full one.

6. Redeeming awards on oneworld and associated airlines

Can I choose flights on various airlines when redeeming my award?

  • Oneword airlines (American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malév, Royal Jordanian, Qantas, Mexicana, S7 Airlines):

    • You may choose a flight with 2 or more oneworld airlines. Example: travel from Madrid to Rome, travel one way with Iberia and on the return flight use British Airways.
  • Associated airlines (Alaska Airlines, Aeroméxico and TAM):

    • You cannot redeem an award where your flight combines these airlines.

    • You cannot redeem an award that combines associated airlines with oneworld airlines. Example: you cannot redeem an award from Miami to Mexico City on a one way flight on American Airlines and return on Aeromexico.

    • If your trip includes LAN flights, the trip on an associated airline must be roundtrip. Example: you cannot redeem an award from Santiago to Rio de Janeiro on your one way flight with TAM and return on LAN.

Can I choose any route?

There are certain routes that are not available on Lan.com, which must be redeemed through the ContactCenter and LAN office.

Can I take the same amount of baggage as when I fly on LAN?

No, you need to check the conditions with the airline operating that flight. .

Does an award flight allow change?

Awards issued for flight on oneworld and associated airlines only allow date change and/or time change, they do not allow for previously programmed itinerary change, airline, Open Jaw or Stop Overs. Change is only permitted if you have not used some coupon. This change is associated to a service charge.

Can changes be made through Lan.com

All awards with all, one or more routes operated by oneworld or associated airlines do not allow for change through Lan.com and must be changed through our Contact Center or Lan office, in accordance to the change conditions for LANPASS awards

7.Checking your kilometers

How can I check to see how many kilometers I've earned?

Every month, you will receive an E-newsletter from LANPASS containing your Account Statement. You can also check your kilometer balance on LAN.com or by contacting our Contactn Center.

Can I receive my Account Statement by e-mail?

Yes. Every month, an e-newsletter from LANPASS containing your Account Statement will be sent to your e-mail address.

What do I do if there are kilometers missing from my account?

Through the LANPASS Call Center: Contact the Contact Center and request that the missing kilomers be accredited.

8. Elite categories

What are Elite categories?

The are three Elite membership categories:

  • Comodoro (Commodore)
  • Premium Silver
  • Premium
How can I get an Elite membership?

In order to obtain and maintain Elite membership, you must meet one of the two following requirements every calendar year (between January 1 and December 31):

Notes:

1. Applicable to fares, routes and travel dates that allow for the earning of LANPASS kilometers.
2. Class bonus: When flying with LAN, you will receive a bonus equal to 25 percent of the total distance traveled if you are flying Executive Class.
3. Segmento: Segment: A direct flight between two cities.

Comodoro:

1) Accumulating 150.000 kilometers with LAN or oneworld:
  • For flights taken with LAN o oneworld using tariffs that allow kilometer accumulation (with a minimum of 4 segments flown with LAN).
  • For LAN Business Class kilometer bonus.
  • Between January 1 and December 31 of each year.
  • The tariff categories that accumulate a 100%, 125% or a 150%, qualify the user for a higher level. Kilometers additional to the 100% flown also qualify.

2) Flying 100 segments with LAN:

  • On LAN flights that allow for the earning of kilometers.
  • Between January 1 and December 31 of each year.

3) Accumulating 90.000 kilometers with a minimum of 6medium or long haul segments in LAN's Business Class:

  • Valid kilometers are accumulated either by flying in LAN or oneworld and/or through bonus kilometers for flying in LAN's Business Class.
  • Business Class must take place in LAN, within tariffs and routes that allow kilometer accumulation and must comprise at least 6 segments.
  • Business Class flights must be medium or long haul according to LANPASS´definition.
  • The goal must be reached between January 1 and December 31 of each year.
  • Once the goal has been reached, the awarded category shall be given within a maximum period of approximately 2 weeks after the qualifying date.

Premium Silver:

1) Accumulating 80.000 kilometers with LAN or oneworld:
  • For flights taken with LAN o oneworld using tariffs that allow kilometer accumulation (with a minimum of 4 segments flown with LAN).
  • For LAN Business kilometer bonus.
  • Between January 1 and December 31 of each year.
  • Tariffs that accumulate 125% and 150%, qualify the user for a higher category. Only in this instance will the kilometers additional to the 100% flown will also qualify the user for a higher.

Tip: Remember that only these 2 types of kilometers are valid in order to qualify for fly Elite categories.

2) Flying 60 segments with LAN:

  • Between January 1st and December 31st of each year.

3) Accumulating 40,000 kilometers with a minimum of 4 medium or long haul segments in LAN's Business Class::

  • Business Class must take place in LAN, within tariffs and routes that allow kilometer accumulation and must comprise at least 4 segments.
  • Business flights must be medium or long haul, according to LANPASS' definition.
  • The goal must be reached between January 1 and December 31 of each year.
  • Once the goal has been reached, the awarded category shall be given within a maximum period of approximately 2 weeks after the qualifying date.

Premium:

1) Accumulating 40.000 kilometers in 1 calendar year:
  • For flights taken with LAN or oneworld using fares that allow kilometer accumulation (with a minimum of 4 segments flown with LAN).
  • For LAN Business and First Class kilometer bonus.
  • Between January 1 and December 31 of each year.
  • Fares that accumulate 125% and 150%, qualify the user for a higher category. Only in this instance the kilometers additional to the 100% flown will also qualify the user for a higher category.

Tip: Remember that only these 2 types of kilometers are valid in order to qualify for fly Elite categories.

2) Flying 30 LAN segments in a maximum period of 1 calendar year:

  • Between January 1st and December 31st of each year.

How long will my Elite membership last?

If you start an Elite membership in 2008, then your membership will last until March 31, 2009.
This way, you can take advantage of your benefits until March 31 of the following year, in addition to the official category period, which begins on April 1 of the year following the year in which you joined and continues through March 31 of the subsequent year.

When can I begin to use my Elite benefits?

You can become an Elite member as soon as you've earned enough kilometers or flown enough segments, provided you meet the requirements before December of this year.

When will I receive my Elite membership card?

Once you qualify, you will receive your Elite Welcome Pack within 30 days. The pack contains:

  • Your LANPASS Premium Membership card, along with a oneworld Ruby Member badge.
  • A Premium badge for your luggage. This will ensure that your luggage is given Priority class treatment.
  • A guide detailing Premium benefits.
  • Electronic coupons that will be charged to your Upgrade account.

Para el Premium Silver:

  • Your LANPASS Premium Silver Membership card, along with a oneworld Sapphire Member badge.
  • A Premium badge for your luggage. This will ensure that your luggage is given Priority class treatment.
  • A guide detailing Premium Silver benefits.
  • Electronic coupons that will be charged to your Upgrade account.

Para el Comodoro:

  • Your LANPASS Comdoro Membership card, along with a oneworld Emerald Member badge.
  • A Premium badge for your luggage. This will ensure that your luggage is given Priority class treatment.
  • A guide detailing Comodoro benefits.
  • Electronic coupons that will be charged to your Upgrade account.

Tip: If you fly before receiving your Elite Pack, most of the benefits will be recognized regardless! Simply inform the LAN representative behind the Premium Category counter and provide your member number.

What do I do if I lose my Elite membership card?

You can request a new membership card to replace the one you lost. To do this, simply contact our Contact Center and request a replacement card.

What type of kilometers can be used to qualify for Elite membership?

Valid kilometers are those earned through LAN flights, oneworld flights and flights with LANPASS-affiliate airlines and those earned for Cabin class bonuses on LAN flights.

9. LANPASS online services

What do I do if I can´t access LAN.com?

Try again later or contact our LAN.com Contact Center.

What do I do if I can't remember my member number?

If you are a registered LAN.com user, try signing in to LAN.com using your user name and password. Your member number will appear on your Account Statement. If you are not a registered LAN.com user, contact our Call Center to obtain your LANPASS member number.

TIP: If you are a Chilean citizen, your member number is your RUT number.

What do I do if I can't remember my password?

If you cannot remember your password, try LAN.com's Forgotten Password service. An e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address you registered when signing up for LAN.com. If you do not have a registered e-mail address, contact our Contact Center to obtain a new password.
