Minimum fares to apply for un Upgrade

The Upgrade awards exchanged with kms. do not require the payment of a minimum fare. See more.

This table shows the minimum fares on your ticket that you will need to use the Upgrade benefit. These fares are valid for:

  • The highest minimum fare applies between the connection(s), according to the prices published in this table. Example: the US$ 2,300 Santiago -  Sydney fare applies to Quito - Sydney, as the flight makes a connection in Santiago).
  • For routes whose final destination is the Caribbean, Papeete, Easter Island and Cancun, the minimum fare does not apply.

Notes:

1) The fares published in the table are Round Trip. All one-way fares carry the right to request an Upgrade.
2) The new minimum fare values apply from September 10th, 2008 onward.
3) For the rest of the routes, and those that include none of the segments appearing on the table, no minimum fares apply.
4) Upgrades must be made with paid tickets.
5) Minors traveling on discounted child and/or infant commercial rates cannot opt for the LANPASS UPG benefit. Only children with adult rate tickets can opt for this benefit, when their tickets comply with the minimum fare established for each route.
6) Minimum fares don´t include taxes and other charges.
7) In order to use your Upgrade coupons, you need to earn LANPASS kilometers on that flight and give your member number when you do your check in.
8) If your ticket has already been issued and does not meet the minimum fare requirement for using the Upgrade benefit, you may request that the ticket be reissued at a higher fare while paying the difference, subject to the regulations applicable to your fare and the availability at the time. This reissuance can be realized prior to the flight at LAN offices and via the LANPASS Call Center, where you can pay online with a credit card.
Important: LAN airport offices are not authorized to perform this kind of ticket reissuance.
