LAN AIRLINES monthly traffic report for november 2004

LAN Airlines S.A. and its related companies, ("LAN" or "the Company") (NYSE: LFL / IPSA: LAN) one of the leading airline groups in Latin America, reported its preliminary monthly and accumulated traffic statistics and punctuality indicators for November 2004.

System passenger traffic for November increased 12.2% as capacity rose of 14.9%. As a result, the Company's load factor decreased 1.7 points to 71.1%.

International passenger traffic for November increased 14.7% while capacity increased 20.3%. Accordingly, the international passenger load factor for the month decreased 3.4 points to 70.1%. These results mainly reflect a improvements in demand, market share gains, the launch of new routes, as well as changes in the market mix.

Domestic passenger traffic for November increased 2.3% as capacity decreased 5.6%. As a consequence, the domestic load factor for the month increased 5.8 points to 75.4%. Domestic traffic mainly increased due to improvements in demand and market share.

Cargo traffic, as measured in RTKs, improved 13.0% while capacity increased 10.5%. Consequently, the cargo load factor increased 1.5 points to 69.0%. These results reflect improving southbound traffic, as well as strong export traffic out of Latin America.

In November, 84.5% of the Company's total flights left on-time, based on a fifteen-minute standard (all departures leaving within fifteen minutes of scheduled departure time are considered as "on-time"). This represented a 6.2-point decrease compared to November 2003.
