LAN awarded eCommerce Company of the year 2010

Due to the successful management of their website LAN.com, LAN Airlines was titled “e-commerce Company of the Year” in the e-commerce Awards Latin America 2010, awarded by the Latin American Institute of Electronic Commerce (ILCE). The contest seeks to distinguish the best companies that, through their work in electronic commerce and internet businesses, have contributed by innovating and enhancing the network market and the digital economy of the country and the region they belong to.
Gonzalo Undurraga, director of the website LAN.com, said: "Latin America has excellent conditions to develop e-commerce, as the demand for online services is more active now than ever. Our challenge in LAN.com is to add quality to the demand and to generate a greater amount of deals. We are delighted with this award, as it allows us to share experiences, learn from best practices and understand new opportunities to develop a better website for our customers. In this sense, LAN.com Mobile recently launched a new tool that allows passengers to check their mobile devices from the status of your flight”.
eCommerce Latin America is the most important event of the year in electronic commerce and Internet business in the region, and is a day of exposure of the entire range of products and service providers in Latin America. This year's event was held in Bogotá, Colombia, and had a record of experts in Latin America.
After the introduction and presentation of the selected companies, a jury of 36 prominent references -representing the best companies and institutions in the sector, chose the “Best of” in 6 categories, and LAN was voted the “Best Company in eCommerce” in Latin America, competing with companies all industries of countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Peru, among others.
