Security Enhancement: Carry-on Baggage Prohibited Items
In keeping with the restrictions imposed by the EU and the US regarding liquids as carry-on baggage items, all passengers on LAN flights and online or offline connections to/from Australia, New Zealand and Brazil will be required to comply with the following restrictions as of April 1, 2007:
- Passengers will be permitted to bring liquids, gels and aerosols as carry-on baggage provided that the items are packaged in containers with a capacity of 100 ml or less each, and that containers fit comfortably in one clear, closed and resealable plastic bag (Ziploc-type) with a capacity of no more than 1 liter. One bag per passenger will be permitted.

- The following items will be permitted in reasonable amounts according to the length of passenger itinerary:
-
Baby formula/ milk (including breast milk), baby food, milk and juice in small containers if a child aged two years and under is traveling. These items must be kept in the responsible adult's carry-on baggage.
-
Medicines (liquids, gel and/or aerosol).
- Passengers will be subject to random physical inspections.
Please note that these restrictions may be applicable to Duty Free items if purchased at connection points along the route.
