OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

LAN CARGO AFFILIATE IN BRAZIL NOW OFFERS DOMESTIC SERVICE

Miami, FL, March 27, 2009.

LAN CARGO announced that its Brazilian affiliate, ABSA - Aerolinhas Brasileiras S.A, began domestic cargo operations to and from Sao Paulo and Manaos.

ABSA operates this route daily, from Monday through Friday, using a Boeing 767-300F featuring the latest technology and cargo capacity of up to 54 tons.

"There is a sentiment of great satisfaction that accompanies ABSA’s new domestic operations. This undertaking represents a more comprehensive product that is better suited to the needs of ABSA’s customers, while maximizing our network capacity and allowing us to continue offering the highest reliability, punctuality and efficiency standards," highlighted Cristian Ureta, CEO of LAN CARGO.

Largely due to the geographic location of each city, the Sao Paulo-Manaos route is one of Brazil’s most concentrated in cargo trade. Manaos is the Amazonian region’s capital and the fourth most important Brazilian city in terms of GDP. A large number of businesses are located in its industrial zone, particularly those in the technology sector. Manaos also offers special tax incentives designed to draw investors to develop the industrial zone, which makes for an attractive alternative for customers in the import and export business.

"ABSA’s new domestic product in Brazil strengthens its operational capacity and support that of its affiliates. In turn, our worldwide customers now have a broader network of destinations and more services to choose from. It is through these strategic initiatives that LAN CARGO and its affiliates have become the best option for shipping to and from Latin America, serving all South American capitals, as well as Mexico, and most recently the Central American destinations of San Jose, Costa Rica and Guatemala City," added Mr. Ureta.
