LAN Airlines was once again chosen Best Airline in South America by the yearly World Airline Awards conducted by prestigious English market research company, SkyTrax.
34 categories were evaluated and recognized at the 2009 World Airline Awards ceremony, hosted in Hamburg. The survey is the largest global passenger study of the airline industry that includes more than 16 million interviews of customers from 95 different nationalities. It measured diverse aspects in passenger satisfaction along with product and service standards of each airline to evaluate travel experience.
The World Airline Survey is considered the main reference tool in terms of passenger satisfaction of airlines around the world.
Armando Valdivieso, CEO for LAN’s Passenger Operations said: "We are proud to receive this important award once again as it reflects the opinions of seasoned passengers around the world. Their preference is the best motivator for everything we do on a daily basis: to provide an excellent, consistent and distinctive service to our customer while providing the best travel experience."
2009 marks the tenth anniversary of the World Airline Awards and this year the ceremony was conducted alongside the world-renown Aircraft Interiors fair in Hamburg, Germany, where companies review new products and trends in aircraft interiors.
