Miami, FL, December 12 th, 2008.
For the third time Business Traveler, a prestigious and worldwide leader in travel publications, has selected LAN’s Business Class service as the best in travel in South America.
Business Traveler is the host and organizer of the Readers Choice Awards. These awards represent the opinion of the publication’s readers as it relates to the best airports, airlines, hotels, value added for credit cards, among other categories. The participants of this latest survey highlighted once again the service excellence associated with LAN’s Business Class travel option.
"Our subscribers are among the most traveled people in the world. This is why once a year we ask them for their opinions on the best in certain industries. The Business Traveler awards represent a prestigious acknowledgement for the companies that are chosen because ultimately the award is the opinion of their clients," mentioned Linda Vaughan, publisher.
Armando Valdivieso, CEO Passenger, LAN Airlines, stated “It is a great honor to receive this award because in essence passengers who frequently choose our airline for their travel needs around the world recognize our commitment to excellence in travel. Recently, LAN completed the implementation of the new Premium Business class on its entire fleet of Boeing 767s for long haul travel. We are pleased that our passengers have expressed their satisfaction with this new concept of travel that combines the best from our well-known First and Business class levels of service. Premium Business is a product that only a few select airlines around the world offer their passengers and places us on the leading edge of innovation for our industry. By offering excellence in travel service, LAN reaffirms its commitment to its passengers around the world.”
Premium Business offers full flat seats that recline 180° and allows for a completely horizontal sleeping option. Additionally, there are divider panels between the seats that makes for ultimate privacy and tranquility. The design gives business travelers what they most value during long flights: rest.
Premium Business also features an entertainment system with the latest technology, positioning LAN among the small number of companies in the world offering the greatest choices and widest variety of programming options. Beginning in January 2009, the individual high resolution screens that currently feature on-demand video and audio options will feature 44 different films every month, 80 channels with television series, 550 CDs and 14 video games. This service will even offer computer connectivity, an especially important feature for the business traveler.
LAN has already rolled out Premium Business on its fleet of Airbus 340s. At the end of the first half of 2009, all of LAN’s transcontinental flights between Santiago and Europe, New Zealand and Australia will also feature this new travel class option.
