Flights within South America:The LAN service alliance introduces the new Business Express

Santiago , November 28, 2007. The LAN Service Alliance carriers introduced the new Business Express class for flights within South America, making the member carriers the first in the region to offer the product for flights to and from Lima to Quito, Bogotá, and Caracas . The carriers plan to extend the service to the rest of the short-haul flights operated in South America during the upcoming year.

Following the model presented by European companies for their continental short-haul flights, the new Business Express will offer a service adequate to the needs of passengers traveling for business in flights of 4 or less hours. To save its customers significant amounts of time, Business Express offers preferential check-in service at the counter or through LAN.com, access to a VIP salon, and preferential flight boarding, exit and baggage retrieval. All of this at a convenient price, with the flexibility to make date, time and flight changes when necessary up to two hours prior to departure.

Airbus' modern A320 line is being redesigned to offer exclusive space and attention, for a maximum of 12 passengers in its new Business Express cabin, where passengers may enjoy approximately 50% more space than the Economy class.

For long-haul international flights, the LAN Service Alliance carriers offer Premium Business. On its part, LAN Airlines is in the process of implementing this new service to its Boeing 767-300 fleet operating between Latin America and the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, the Polynesian, and Europe. Premium Business offers the best from First and Business class, with full flat reclining seats, allowing a comfortable sleep in a fully 180 o horizontal position, something currently offered by only a select group of airlines in the world. A state of the art onboard entertainment system has been included. The renovation project for the company's Boeing 767-300 fleet will be finalized midway during the upcoming year.
